Chanel Mica Rose nail polish review

Chanel Mica Rose nail polish was originally introduced in Chanel’s spring 2009 beauty collection. For the winter 2015 season, Chanel re-introduced several nail polish colors from seasons’ past; Mica Rose being one of them.

Mica Rose by Chanel is a classic, sweet pink color which is easy to wear on a daily basis. Chanel Mica Rose nail polish is also a great color for the spring 2015 season. Pale pink has been “on trend” for the past couple of years and is showing no sign of slowing down as we move into the spring 2015 season. This makes Mica Rose by Chanel an easy way to wear the light pink trend this spring season; even though the color was re-promoted for winter. 😉

I tested out Mica Rose by Chanel with two coats of color, one base coat and no top coat. The nail polish lasted six days before chipping. Love that!

Chanel Desirio nail polish spring 2015 review

Chanel Desirio nail polish spring 2015

Pictured: Chanel Desirio nail polish for spring 2015. Two coats of color, one base coat, no top coat.

Chanel Desirio nail polish is a bright fuchsia hue from Chanel spring 2015 beauty collection. This bright fuchsia is on the dark side and can be a substitute for red this spring season. Chanel Desirio is also a good nail polish to wear with this season’s bright colors. Love it!

For spring 2015, designers are showing pastels, muted colors, true colors and brights. When it comes to color tone, there are no rules for spring! This means you can choose a color tone you love and stick with it for the season. If you love bright colors, true colors and muted hues, Chanel Desirio nail polish will work well with all of those color tones. It is also a great alternative for red this spring 2015 season if you prefer to keep your nails classic; but are tired of red after the holiday season.

I tested Chanel Desirio nail polish with two coats of color and one base coat; no top coat. The nail polish lasted for five days before chipping. I really enjoy wearing this color. It worked well with my current, winter wardrobe; and I can tell it will work well with my upcoming spring wardrobe. It is an easy color to wear and looks great day or night. Love that!

Chanel Desirio nail polish is also a good nail color for wearing from spring into summer. If you want one nail polish color to stay with through both seasons, this is the color to reach for. It’s bright nature will easily carry you through spring 2015’s color palette’s into summer 2015’s color wheel.

Opi Glitter Nail Lacquer in So Elegant

I recently ran a loop giveaway on Instagram where I asked participants which brand of nail polish was their favorite. The overwhelming response was OPI! I was intrigued since I had never actually tried OPI. So I decided to check out OPI and see why it seems to be the overwhelming favorite!

I have always wanted to test out a glittering top coat. Since I purchased a few bottles of OPI before the New Year, OPI Glitter Nail Lacquer in So Elegant seemed timely and appropriate for the occasion. I was right! OPI Glitter Nail Lacquer in So Elegant was a sparkling and festive top coat nail polish. I loved how it looked over the light metallic hue of Chanel Paradisio. It seemed to be the perfect, and “So Elegant” contrast that the sparkling top coat needed to shine.

It was fun wearing OPI Glitter Nail Lacquer in So Elegant for about one week and I was thrilled that it did not chip at all! Alas, after the New Year, it was time to change to a more subdue color so I took off OPI Glitter Nail Lacquer in So Elegant. This nail polish was so strong, that it took four cotton squares and  a LOT of nail polish remover to take it off my nails. I give OPI Glitter Nail Lacquer in So Elegant props for being chip-free, strong and long lasting, my only complaint was that it was a lot of work to remove it. In OPI’s defense, this may have been due to the fact that it is difficult to get nail polish remover around and under the big chunks of glitter found in OPI Glitter Nail Lacquer in So Elegant.

I am looking forward to using OPI Glitter Nail Lacquer in So Elegant again whenever I need festive nails for an event or party. It should be fun to layer over pastels and brighter colors as the year heads into summer.

OPI Glitter Nail Lacquer in So Elegant is part of OPI’s “Sheer to the Top!” top coat collection which can be found exclusively online here. I am looking forward to testing out the regular top coat in the collection as well as the matte top coat.
