The Lace Trend Continues into Fall with a Vengeance

Lace was one of the dominant embellishments or fabrics on the runways for spring 2011 and the trend continued on the fall 2011 runways in Paris, New York, Milan and London. Lace popped up as both the main fabric on a garment as well as edging, detailing and overlays. There were also lace inspired leathers, metals and prints on everything from handbags to jewelry to the garments themselves.

Lace is an intricate fabric that is being shown for all types of looks this fall. Casual attire is showing lace fabric as well as lace details while more formal wear is featuring fine lace overlays and embellishments. Lace is adding texture, femininity and sex appeal to fall fashion, making it one of the must-have trends for fall. Love it!

One reason lace is continuing in popularity for the fall season is that is can easily fit into the varying style trends that appeared on the runways including the vintage trend, ladylike trend and continuing boho-chic trend.

We have a few fabulous tips from Tucker by Gaby Basora to help you style your lace pieces this fall. Special thank you to Tucker by Gaby Basora for providing these amazing tips for us!

“Take a hint from trendsetter Selita Ebanks and pair a sophisticated and subtle colored lace top with a bold printed skirt, like this Pleated Skirt from Tucker by Gaby Basora. Top the look off with simple accessories and a sleek hairdo.

(Second Photo) Revamp a classic lace, like this Short Sleeve Yoke Blouse from Tucker by Gaby Basora. We suggest pairing it with a bright colored cami or for an edgier look, a colorful bra adds a pop of color. Dress this look up by pairing with a solid skirt, or for a more casual look, a pair of jeans works just as well.”

Fall 2011 Jewelry Trends: Artisan Bold

Bold jewelry has been on trend for the past several seasons. One of the biggest jewelry trends seen on the fall 2011 runways in Paris, New York, London and Milan was bold jewelry. Bold jewelry took on many forms for fall during the runway shows. There were gem encrusted pieces, artisan pieces and unexpected materials. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, Fashionistas are more prone to wear artisan pieces or jewelry made from unexpected materials rather than sparkling bling. The understated Bay Area never shies away from a trend, just wears the look in a more quiet way which is just as fabulous as what was seen on the runways.

The Bay Area has just as many micro-fashion pockets as we do micro-climates. Although we have micro-fashion pockets, one thing Cheap Luxury Handbags Stores agree on is that the best way to spice up an outfit is with a bold, statement piece of jewelry. The statement piece can be anything from a pair of earrings to an unique necklace made by a local designer to an eye catching cuff made by a local artist.

When looking for the perfect and unique piece of jewelry for fall, the main thing to look for is a piece that will work well with the color palette in your closet and that will keep you intrigued for seasons to come. After all, the perfect artisan piece of jewelry is the ultimate wardrobe staple in the Bay Area, not just for fall 2011.

Wondering where to start? We found a few exceptional pieces from emerging designers at Circle and Square SF. See photos for details and please visit circleandsquaresf.com

Fall 2011 Beauty Trends: Sparkling eyes from the runway

Nails are not the only body part sparkling with shimmer this fall season; eyes are getting their sparkle on. The fall 2011 face is dramatic and fresh, giving beauty enthusiasts something to run to stores for; sparkles! Eyes are sparkling this fall with shimmering dark eye shadow shades of black, burgundy, grey and brown. Metallic eyes shadows are also important with bronze, silver, pewter and gold topping out the list. While eye shadow shimmers, thick black eyeliner is dressing up the eye with false eyelashes or lengthening mascara to top off the overall look.

While eyes sparkle, the rest of the face is quiet; ensuring the look is all about the eyes. Face powder is light and matte with cheeks wearing medium to light blush tones applied with one brushstroke. The lips are wearing sheer colors that are not too dark and give just a hint of color.

While eyes are the dominant feature on the face for fall 2011, nails are sparkling in shades of black, dark beige and green. An easy way to keep nails from competing with the eyes is to wearing complimentary shades such as black shadow and black polish; both with the sparkle of a disco ball of course

With sparkling, dark eyes, the overall face for fall 2011 sets an evening tone; evoking images of disco balls and parties. In order to wear this look in the reality of daylight, lighter colors can be chosen for the eye shadow such as shimmering grey or softer browns. As long as there is a hint of shimmer, the darkness of the color can be left up to personal preference and occasion. Happy shopping and stay fabulous
