The holiday 2013 season is almost here! That means Chanel has already given us a holiday red nail polish for the festive season. This year, Chanel has created “Rouge Rubis” nail polish. Chanel “Rouge Rubis” nail polish is a bright, cherry red which works perfectly with winter 2014’s candy colored trend. The red hue from Chanel “Rouge Rubis” is reminiscent of a Maraschino Cherry, as well as a sweet, candied cherry pie. It is not a red for the faint of heart; “Rouge Rubis” is bright and fun!

Chanel “Rouge Rubis” nail polish has the perfect balance between a blue based red and an orange based red. “Rouge Rubis” plays well with both sides of the color spectrum making it an easy color to wear on a daily basis. I tested Chanel “Rouge Rubis” with one base coat and two coats of color; no top coat. The polish wore off the edges of the top of my nails within two days, but after the initial rub off on the edges, “Rouge Rubis” did not chip or flake for seven days. Love that!

“Rouge Rubis” by Chanel is a great cherry pie red for the holiday 2013 season, as well as for the nail polish guru who loves red! Chanel “Rouge Rubis” nail polish is a fun red; much less serious than the red nail polish hues Chanel has produced over the past few holiday seasons. I love the playful nature of a cherry red and the fact that it does not chip easily is a huge bonus!

Dolce & Gabbana Ultra classic cream lipstick review

Dolce Gabbana’s new “Ultra” color in their classic cream lipstick collection is dark and mysterious. This deep, dark red lipstick is on-trend for the winter months and balances out the season’s heavy prints, textures and necklines. The dark hue from Dolce Gabbana’s “Ultra” classic cream lipstick is also a great way to add color to the season’s hot neutral palette which includes shades of white, cream, pale beige and light tans.

Dolce Gabbana’s “Ultra” classic cream lipstick is a heavy cream lipstick which works well when paired with a lip-liner (I would use Dolce Gabbana’s “Ultra“ lip-liner to match!) to prevent running. The color saturation is deep and long-lasting. I also found Dolce Gabbana’s “Ultra” classic cream lipstick to be moisturizing. Love that!

Body Butter: c/o Perlier Imperial Honey

Perlier “Imperial Honey” is a new body butter product from Italian beauty brand Perlier. The body butter is made from the rare honey of black bees and combined with royal jelly. It is considered to be a “youth-elixir.”

I tested out Perlier’s “Imperial Honey” body butter for one week. This time of year my skin tends to get dry from the heater and the dry weather we typically have in the fall months. Perleir’s “Imperial Honey” body butter was a welcome test for my dry skin. I love how it quickly nourished my skin and left it feeling anything but dry!

Body creams, lotions and butters with a scent are my favorite to use. I have a bit of a fragrance addiction 🙂 I love the warm fragrance experience from Perlier’s “Imperial Honey” body butter. There were fragrance notes of honey, woods and soft spices which carried me throughout the day. The scent was easy to blend with warm fragrances such as Dolce Gabbana “Desire the one” and Van Cleef Arpel’s “Precious Oud.”

The verdict? Five out of five stars!
