Espadrilles are a classic summer staple nearly every Fashionista needs in her closet. Aside from walking barefoot on the beach, espadrilles are the one street shoe which makes walking on sand easy. In addition to making walking on the beach a breeze, espadrilles look casual and laid-back; which is what summer is all about!

There are many espadrilles on the market for summer 2014 which reflect the trends we saw on the spring/summer 2014 runways in New York. In addition to the runway trends, leopard print espadrilles are a huge street trend this summer!

Wondering how to wear espadrilles outside of the beach or pool party circuit? Espadrilles look amazing with maxi skirts, maxi dresses, wide leg pants, shorts, cotton dresses and any casual summertime look. Espadrilles are an easy alternative to flip flops or sandals when putting together a ultra-casual look on the weekends, after work or while on vacation. Wedge espadrilles are a great way to be casual without having to give up a little lift.

I found a few fabulous espadrilles for the summer 2014 season around the web and assembled them into this article. When shopping for espadrilles for the summer 2014 season, look for animal prints, stripes, black/white, bright colors and graphic prints.

Neiman Marcus is one of my favorite places to shop; and enjoy a little eye candy! They always carry the best selection of hot-off-the-runway pieces and trends every season. In addition to being on top of the runway trends, Neiman Marcus has a large selection of investment pieces which are timeless and offer quality which lasts a lifetime. This is where the sale comes in!

One of the best things about Neiman Marcus is sale time! When Neiman Marcus has a sale, it is a great time to snap up investment pieces which are classic and will carry you from season to season. In addition to timeless pieces, when Neiman Marcus has a sale at the end of the season, it is a great time to look for pieces which at the beginning of trend; these pieces are most likely to still be in style the following year. Not only can you wear the item this season, you will be able to wear it next season too! Love that!

When shopping Neiman Marcus’s sale today, look for items you need in your wardrobe for summer 2014 which offer timeless appeal. Also, look for trends with longevity. Trends to look for include shoes with pointed toes, flat soles, thick heels and ankle straps. For handbags, seek out small satchels, mini bags, drawstring bags and small cross body bags. For clothing, look for solid colors and nautical stripes. Prints can easily look dated from year to year.
