YSL fall 2017 nail polish Studio 54 review

YSL fall 2017 nail polish collection Studio 54 review

The YSL fall 2017 nail polish collection is here! The YSL Studio 54 nail polish collection for the fall 2017 season is sparkling, dazzling, and so much fun! Love!

Yves Saint Laurent has introduced two sparkling nail polish hues for the upcoming cool weather season. “Bronze Fever” which is a sparkling bronze polish, and “Studio Silver” which is a dazzling white-silver glitter polish, are both glittering nail polishes which sparkle, shine, and make you want to dance the night away!

Metallics are still a hot trend as we move into the fall 2017 season. They graced the fall runways, and they are still hot on the street. Store buyers are also diving into the metallic trend and we will see metallic touches on apparel for the fall season as well as full blown metallic handbags, shoes, and accessories. This means rocking some sparkles on our nails is an easy way to wear the metallic trend everyday, without needing to think about it. Plus, who doesn’t want a party on their nails! Love it!

Here is my review of both nail polish colors from the YSL Studio 54 fall 2017 nail polish collection!

YSL fall 2017 nail polish: Bronze Fever

YSL bronze fever nail polish fall 2017 review

YSL Bronze Fever is my favorite of the two Studio 54 nail polish colors from Yves Saint Laurent for fall 2017. This is a beautiful sparkling bronze hue which is easy to wear during the day. Of course, the sparkles make it extremely festive for evening occasions as well!

I tested out YSL Bronze Fever with one base coat, and two coats of color. I did not use a top coat. The glitter in the polish helps make it really strong, so this nail polish does not chip! It is always nice to have polish on which is worry-free; it makes life a bit easier!

The bronze hue is a great neutral for the autumn season. It can easily be worn with any fall color palette; and it sparkles, so what’s not to love!!

YSL fall 2017 nail polish: Studio Silver

ysl nail polish studio silver fall 2017 review

YSL Studio Silver is a pale, sparkling glitter polish which really kicks up the glitz under lights or direct sun. This is a fun nail polish which I prefer to think of  as perfect for special occasions, or nighttime activities. Of course, it can also be worn during the day, I just prefer it for actual events.

I tested out Studio Silver by YSL with one base coat, and two coats of color. The Studio Silver glitter is a bit courser then the Bronze Fever glitter, so I found without a top coat, it has a bit too much texture; which is on the scratchy side. After one day, I applied a top coat and the texture/scratchy issue disappeared. I highly recommend using a top coat with this one!

With two coats, Studio Silver is a fabulous stand-alone nail polish color. I found with one coat, it could double as a glittering topper for black or vampy nail polish colors. Of course, even with one coat, you would need to apply a top coat to keep it from being scratchy.

Studio Silver is a color I plan to use more as the holiday season approaches. I like it for parties, or as a way to glitz up very dark nail polish. For everyday wear during the fall season, I plan to wear Bronze Fever. In fact, for this transitional period between summer and fall, Bronze Fever is my go-to polish! Love it!

The fall 2017 Studio 54 beauty collection is limited edition, so if you want to add some fun to your fall wardrobe, grab it now!

What do you think of the two nail polish colors from the YSL fall 2017 nail polish collection? Which color is your favorite?

Essie Speed Setter top coat review

pictured, both c/o Essie: portable iPhone charger / Essie Speed Setter top coat

I am so excited to talk about the new Essie Speed Setter top coat that just launched this month! As you know, I love to paint my nails. I often change my nail color, and enjoy playing with new colors. This can be a time consuming habit as I am also an extremely busy Mom!

With three kids, who have three sets of activities, and one of which I homeschool, I have my hands full. The last thing I have time to deal with, is a messed up manicure. After I paint my nails, I need to be able to get moving! Essie’s new Speed Setter top coat is a total game changer for me! It literally speed dries my mani! Love that!

The new Essie Speed Setter top coat not only speed dries my nails, it offers a high gloss shine which adds a bit of luxury to my nails. It also helps my nail polish last longer without chipping. This is key since my nails take a beating from house-cleaning, and being constantly on the go! You know the type of “on the go” I mean; when you don’t have time to take a breath or charge your phone! I literally have a case full of portable phone chargers to get me through life! haha

I’m in love with the new Essie Speed Setter top coat since it dries and hardens my mani in under one minute. I can continue with my life, and keep my kids on schedule; without worrying about my manicure chipping, smudging, or getting fabric imprints! (fabric imprints are so annoying!!) Love it!

Essie summer 2017 nail polish collection

The new Essie summer 2017 nail polish collection is here! There are six colors in the Essie nail polish summer 2017 collection; three are warm, and three are cool. Love them!

The three cool colors include “Blue-La-La” which is a cool, icy blue hue, “Baguette Me Not” which is a vivid lilac color, and “S’il Vous Plait” which is a sparkling, dark lavender color. These are my three favorite colors from the collection, they are beautiful!

In addition to the three cool hues, the Essie summer 2017 nail polish collection includes three warm shades. “Eclair My Love” is a bold, bright, dark fuschia hue, “Fondant of You” is a light, sparkling tangerine orange, and “Sweet Souffle” is a warm, sparkling off-white nail color. These are so perfect for summer vacation!

I tested out all six of the summer colors. Here are my reviews of each individual color.

Essie Baguette Me Not nail polish for summer 2017

This is Essie “Baguette Me Not” nail polish for summer 2017. It is a bright, vivid lilac hue. Baguette Me Not is a cream nail polish which works perfectly in two coats. This is a really pretty color for summer!

Essie Blue-La-La nail polish for summer 2017

Essie “Blue-La-La” nail polish for summer 2017 is my favorite color from the Essie summer 2017 nail polish collection. This is a vivid, icy blue hue which makes a tan look amazing! It is a cream nail polish which goes on smoothly, no streaking, in two coats. I plan on wearing this one a lot this season! Love!

Essie S’il Vous Plait nail polish for summer 2017

“S’il Vous Plait” by Essie is a sparkling, dark lavender nail polish which is beautifully eye-catching in the summer sun. This is my second favorite color from the collection. I cannot wait to wear it often this summer! It is a metallic nail polish which goes on perfectly in two coats. Love it!

Now, for the three warm hues from the Essie summer 2017 nail polish collection.

Essie Eclair My Love nail polish summer 2017

“Eclair My Love” by Essie for summer 2017 is a bright, bold, dark fuchsia hue. This is the nail polish hue for the daring Fashionista! It is perfect for warm summer days, vacations to tropical locations, and anytime you want to feel like you are on a vacation. It is a cream polish and applies smoothly, and streak-free, in two coats.

Essie Fondant of You nail polish summer 2017

I’m not a big orange fan, but Essie “Fondant of You” has made me change my tune. This is an orange I will wear! I love this sparkling, tangerine hue for the summer months. Fondant of You is a metallic polish which works perfectly in two coats. Love it!!

Essie Sweet Souffle nail polish summer 2017

White nail polish can be hard to apply, and hard to find. Most white nail polishes end up looking like white out manicures from the 1980s. Not “Sweet Souffle” by Essie for summer 2017! Sweet Souffle is a sparkling, off-white hue which looks pretty, feminine, and very un-white-out-like on the nails. It applies smoothly, rare for whites, in two coats. This is a great white polish for summer, and I plan to wear it on my toes so that my toe nail polish will not clash with my shoes. Love this one!!

Like all Essie nail polishes, they last about four days without a top coat; with a top coat, these polishes will last over a week. Always use a good base coat, and your mani will look fabulous!
