Well this is rare! After releasing the holiday 2017 nail polish collection, Chanel has released a special collection of limited edition nail polishes for the winter 2018 season. This rare, winter collection, is comprised of three, green-based nail colors which are named after numbers that had a special meaning for Coco Chanel. Love this!

Every season, Chanel creates colors based upon the clothing collection for that particular season. These nail polish collections typically reflect the color palette Chanel is showing for that particular season. This time around, Chanel has released a collection based upon lucky numbers which have a special meaning for Coco Chanel. I love collections like this!

The last time I invested in a special piece by Chanel which was reflective of something that meant a lot to her, I purchased a black “Puzzle Pieces” tote. Remember that collection from over ten years ago? It was based upon a quilt Coco had created, and Karl Lagerfeld later discovered, in her archives. The collection had been a nod to her love of quilting fashioned after the puzzle piece quilt. This nail polish collection feels just as special.

There is something else different about the Chanel winter 2018 nail polish collection. The brush! The cylindrical brush we have all come to know and love is a thing of the past. Chanel has jumped on the flat brush bandwagon and designed a flat application brush. This brush is a bit longer, and leaner, then other brushes we have seen on the market; allowing it to brush the nail polish on evenly, without getting the skin around your nail all messed up. Love that!

Without further ado, here are the three green hues for winter 2018 from the Chanel Collection Chiffree nail polish line..

Chanel winter 2018 nail polish – Chanel Vert No. 22 – Collection Chiffree

Chanel Vert no. 22 nail polish is a dark grey with a green tinge. This is my favorite color from the collection. Vert no. 22 by Chanel is a beautiful neutral hue created in a cream nail polish. I used one base coat, and two coats of color. The polish applied evenly, without streaking. This is the perfect color to wear with the camo trend of the moment. Love it!

Chanel winter 2018 nail polish – Chanel Vert No. 31 – Collection Chiffree

This is a sassy, deep, dark green nail polish. Chanel Vert no. 31 offers a late fall, green look which is dark enough to carry you through winter. This polish needed one base coat, and three coats of color. It was a little bit streaky after the second coat, but the third coat gave it the perfect even hue you see above. Chanel Vert no. 31 nail polish is a beautiful color. Love it!

Chanel winter 2018 nail polish – Chanel Vert No. 19 – Collection Chiffree

How pretty is Chanel Vert no 19 nail polish! This is the perfect color to wear towards the end of the winter season. It will transition well into resort, and spring, since this color was found on the resort runways. I plan on wearing it at the end of January and into February when my wardrobe starts to transition to spring. I tested Vert no 19 by Chanel out with one base coat and two coats of color. It is a cream polish which applies evenly to perfection. Love!

Diorific Emerald nail polish from the Dior Holiday 2017 collection

dior emerald nail polish holidays 2017 review

J’Adore Dior! Ah Dior! Why are you so fabulous?! Diorific Emerald nail polish is an earth-shattering, sparkling holiday green nail polish; unlike any other green polish out there for the holiday season. The entire Dior holiday 2017 nail polish collection is absolutely amazing.

I would have purchased all four colors, but I couldn’t justify repeating hues I already had in my nail arsenal for such a short season. But this green! Dior Emerald is worth every penny; and more!

The photo above shows Diorific Emerald nail polish against a green lawn, so you can see how the color plays against green. The photo below is set against my usual pool water background; and the polish appears to take on more of a blue hue. Emerald by Dior is a true blue-green hue which captures the colors it is around. It may look more blue in one light, and more green in another.

Diorific Emerald nail polish has teeny-tiny sparkles which catch the light and make the polish shine. It is a festive green which is easy to wear with the season’s color palette. This is the perfect nail polish to wear on a daily basis since it doesn’t scream “party!” yet still exudes a festive, holiday vibe. Love that!

I tested out Diorific Emerald nail polish is one base coat, and two coats of color. I did not use a top coat. Dior nail polish tends to be long lasting, so I didn’t feel the need to use a top coat. Two coats of color was perfect. It is not a cream polish, so Emerald by Dior doesn’t streak. It applies smoothly and leaves a shimmering, solid color. My only complaint is the Diorific application brush. I prefer the regular Dior nail polish brush which is better balanced. The Diorific application brush is too short, and the handle is awkward. Applying this nail polish is a chore; but I do it because the color is so fabulous!

YSL holiday 2017 nail polish Dazzling Lights review

YSL holiday 2017 nail polish collection review

YSL holiday 2017 nail polish collection: Red Lights and Gold Fire

When it comes to fashion, the holidays are all about sparkles, and festive style. I was looking for something festive in the world of nail polish, to compliment the festive vibe of holiday fashion, and was thrilled to find the YSL holiday 2017 nail polish collection; so of course I purchased it right away! The collection is back to holiday basics; sparkling red and gold.

I tested out both colors; because they are fabulous! I liked one more then the other when it came to texture; while loving both of the hues. Without further ado, here are my reviews!

YSL Holiday 2017 Nail Polish: Gold Fire

YSL gold fire nail polish holidays 2017

YSL Gold Fire nail polish is my favorite of the two limited edition hues introduced by Yves Saint Laurent for the festive holiday season. Gold acts like a neutral, so it matches everything. This is a color I can easily wear during the day, or rock at an evening soiree.

This is a glitter nail polish. The glitter bits inside YSL Gold Fire are long and don’t stick out, or cause a rough surface. I tested out YSL Gold Fire nail polish with one base coat, and two coats of color. I did not use a top coat. The gold color is sparkling and shiny. The texture is rather smooth; unlike many glitter polishes which can be rough and catch on things. Don’t you hate it when your nail polish snags your clothing? This one won’t! Love that!

YSL Gold Fire nail polish is long lasting, and won’t chip easily. I love how strong it is, and how festive it! This is my favorite of the two colors from the YSL holiday 2017 nail polish collection named “Dazzling Lights.’

YSL Holiday 2017 nail polish: Red Lights

ysl red lights nail polish holidays 2017 review

This color, YSL Red Lights nail polish, is a beautiful cherry-pink-red. Think of it as a pinkish cherry red. I love the color, and I am not a big red nail polish fan. The pink tinge is just enough to make this an easy red to wear daily without looking too much like a fire engine.

The glitter in YSL Red Lights nail polish is small. This is where the problem comes in. Since the glitter bits are small, they bunch up in the second coat. I used one base coat, and two coats of color. When I applied the first coat, I thought it looked perfect; I should have left it. The second coat is where I ran into the problem. The glitter clumped together causing a rough surface. Next time I apply YSL Red Lights nail polish, I will only wear one coat. Photo shown with two coats.

I love the sparkle in this nail polish. It really glistens in the light. It will be fun to wear with only one coat this holiday season, for special occasions. There is something very festive about this color. It just screams Christmas! Love!

The YSL holiday 2017 nail polish collection, “Dazzling Lights,” is a beautiful, classic holiday collection. It has the two colors we really need to get through the holiday party season. I can’t wait to wear them more!
